Problem
- Patient data is stored in multiple hospital information management systems.
- No single view of patient data and lack of consistency in what patient information is held in each of the systems.
- Deficiencies in patient data quality, inability to measure data quality.
Action
- Created a central patient database
- Established a data quality measurement infrastructure. As a result, actions are taken to increase the patient data quality
- Created a business intelligence tool to visualize data quality metrics and key performance indicators
